Job Description

The role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships across a portfolio of high-value customers, including corporates, or SMEs. The role focuses on delivering banking solutions, driving revenue growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and minimizing risk. This individual will also lead a team of Relationship Managers (as applicable), ensuring targets are met and compliance standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build, manage, and deepen relationships with key clients.
  • Understand clients' financial needs and offer appropriate banking solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert financial advice and insights.

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Acquire new high-value clients to grow the portfolio.
  • Cross-sell a range of products including loans, trade finance, treasury, and investment solutions.

Portfolio & Risk Management

  • Monitor client portfolios for risk indicators and ensure timely action.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee credit appraisal, renewals, and documentation in coordination with credit teams.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of Relationship Managers/Executives.
  • Drive performance through coaching, goal setting, and regular reviews.

Collaboration

  • Coordinate with product, credit, operations, and risk teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Represent the bank at client meetings, industry events, and networking forums.
  • Perform any other duties assigned to by line manager related to the nature of the work
  • Enforce, incorporate, and comply with all necessary controls and related information security (EIS) policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, personal due diligence and vigilance, within departmental/unit activities and operations

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field

Years & Nature of Experience

  • Recommended 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience where required competencies and experience has been demonstrated in relationship management within the banking industry, or a related field.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products and services
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical mindset with credit assessment experience
