About The Role
Accountable for the development, design and delivery of minor works and projects management under the scope of HIA Facilities Management. Ensures the design requirements of internal and external stakeholders are met, whilst applying Project Management Institute standards and procedures and appropriate change management governance to deliver cost, quality and time.

About The Role
Accountable for the development, design and delivery of minor works and projects management under the scope of HIA Facilities Management. Ensures the design requirements of internal and external stakeholders are met, whilst applying Project Management Institute standards and procedures and appropriate change management governance to deliver cost, quality and time.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend optimized and most effective Procurement Strategy for the Project delivery, through close engagement with MATAR procurement team, to maximise value return on CAPEX investments.
- Manages any risks under the ownership of the minor works and projects team, in compliance with the department risk management process, through the identification and measurement of new and emerging risks, implementation of effective mitigating control measures and maintenance of a live department risk register and action tracker, to ensure risk levels are maintained to an acceptable level.
- Oversee and manage design needs throughout all portfolio projects of HIA FM Minor Works and Projects in liaison with project managers and stakeholders (internal and external) in order to ensure full compliance to statuary and regulatory requirement, and local and International design standards such as QCS Kahramaa, ICAO, IATA, in accordance with HIA design standards. Manage in liaison with the Project Manager, the collection verification and validation of all design requirements for each project in compliance with applicable building and Airport regulations as per airport needs.
- Manage in liaison with the Project Manager, the delivery of the design for each project in compliance with the relevant construction and/or consultancy contracts, by regular monitoring the progress against the contractual KPl's, to ensure all contractual terms and conditions are being met.
- Support and implement green buildings principles (environment and sustainability) regulations and standards in design requirements definition Support and implement Health, Safety and Security regulations and standards in design requirements definition.
- Responsible for planning and budgeting short, medium and long terms design needs.
- Responsible for creating and managing against, the relevant budget within the business planning cycle, through effective business case analysis and risk management processes, to ensure the investment required to support the program plan is prioritized based on business objectives and is successfully delivered against the plan.
- Responsible to monitor the quality of the design respect HIA national and international standards in such way that a consistent approach is used by the consultants working through the portfolio. Periodically liase with Assurance Team in order to analyse consistency of HIA design standards application.
- Review and approve stakeholder project requests from internal and external stakeholders, to endorse the Project Charter to enable and establish the clear statement of requirements and detailed scope of works (SOW) when design is needed.
- Manage value engineering process through the life cycle of each project.
- Contribute from a design perspective to ensure the effective handover of assets modified by minor works and projects to the facilities management delivery team and operations, by following the defined project closeout processes and processes and procedures, to enable the effective operations and maintenance from day 1 of handover.
- Responsible for the performance reporting of minor works programs, by consolidating data aligned with defined KPI targets, to ensure delivery against business requirements.
- Assures all projects of the program align to the requirements of the HIA PMI and asset management system to enable maintenance to be delivered from day 1 of operation.
- Assuring that construction is following approved design and variations are properly evaluated and managed accordingly.
- Maintain effective and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders across the HIA estate, through appropriate communication and engagement, to identify and drive the delivery of business requirements for minor works, projects and programs.
- Responsible to ensure the design needs required to support each project are prioritized based on business objectives and final design is successfully delivered against the plan.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
- Managing and delivery of medium to large scale Projects
- Managing project Portfolio and Program Management.
